VMware vCenter Server

VMware vCenter Server is a scalable and extensible foundation for virtualization management. IT administrators may use VMware vCenter Server, to centrally manage VMware vSphere environments in order to dramatically improve control over their virtual environment. VMware vCenter Server:

VMware vCenter Server provides unified management for VMware vSphere environments and is a required component of a complete VMware vSphere deployment. One instance of vCenter Server is required to centrally manage virtual machines and their hosts and to enable all VMware vSphere features.

VMware vCenter Server is available in the following versions:

• VMware vCenter Server for Essentials: Integrated into the VMwarevSphere Essentials and Essentials Plus editions for small office deployments.
• VMware vCenter Server Foundation: Provides powerful centralized management tools for smaller environments (of up to three VMware vSphere hosts allowing for) rapid provisioning, monitoring and control of virtual machines.
• VMware vCenter Server Standard: Enables large scale management of VMware vSphere deployments for rapid provisioning, monitoring, orchestration and control of virtual machines
